After Care

If you want your pieces to last, a little care goes a long way. It’s not just about keeping them clean, it’s about how you wash them, dry them, store them, and the products you choose to use.

Whether it’s our wool knits, cotton shirts or brass details, we’ve put together a few easy tips to help you take care of your clothes and keep them looking their best for years to come.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural fiber known for its versatility, softness, and breathability, making it ideal for warmer days. To prevent shrinking and fading, wash it in cold water on a gentle cycle with similar colors, and air dry in the shade whenever possible.

wool

Wool is a natural fiber and is both breathable and insulating. To keep it in good conditions avoid over washing, sometimes just airing it out is enough. When needed though, hand wash in cold water using a gentle wool detergent. Never wring or twist wool as this could damage the fiber; instead, gently press out the water and lay flat to dry.

Vegetable Tanned leather

Vegetable-tanned leather is a type of leather that’s tanned using natural tannins found in plants. To make your leather belts last, avoid prolonged exposure to water, sunlight, and direct heat. For stains use a special leather cream and a soft cloth instead. Nourish the leather two to three times a year with a quality leather cream or oil.

Brass

All our hardware is made from brass, a strong, durable mix of copper and zinc. To keep it looking its best, wipe regularly with a soft cloth to prevent buildup. Avoid harsh chemicals; instead, use a brass cleaner or a mix of lemon juice and baking soda. Since brass can tarnish with moisture, store your pieces in a dry place.
