Semple [adj.]: To be humble
This word is at the heart of everything we do, from design all the way to production. We want to offer a simpler alternative in today’s fast paced world submerged with over-consumerism through minimal, timeless, quality staples.
By keeping things small, personal, and simple, we focus on what matters: quality pieces that last, support for local artisans, and a more intentional way of dressing.
A Story Woven In Two Cities
The brand was founded in Paris in 2021 by Stephanie Maakaroun. Originally from Lebanon, she spent several years living in Paris, two places that have shaped her in different but equally meaningful ways. Paris brought a love for simple, effortless style; Lebanon, a deep connection to culture, community, and resilience.
Semple was born out of a desire to support Lebanon during a difficult time and to promote the incredible work of its people. Stephanie wanted to create a brand that felt personal, thoughtful, and deeply connected to both places she calls home.

2021
the first pieces
We launched with a small batch of cardigans in a few simple colors, each design finished with its own unique buttons. It was also our first collaboration with the people who still help bring Semple to life today. Those early collaborations and attention to detail has shaped the brand from very beginning.
2022
Expanding the line
The following year, we introduced new staples to our line that have now become signature pieces. The focus was on everyday pieces that felt thoughtful, timeless, and easy to wear so we designed sweaters, a longer version of our cardigan and our signature cape.
2023
we introduce accessories
Pins, scarves, and belts became part of the line, adding a new layer of expression while staying true to our simple, made-to-last approach.
